This image is from an installation called “A Dark And Bloody Ground." Drawing from the marginalized histories from the area of Louisville, Kentucky. These recontextualized photographs are created from images taken by Edward S. Curtis that are now in trust at the Library of Congress.
The installation was commissioned by 21c Museum Hotel, 2016. It is from one of four installations created for Proof, the hotel’s lounge and dining rooms.
